Flammarion Engraving

Flammarion Engraving

I first came across this image, the Flammarion Engraving, when I picked up the book Gnosticism: New Light on the Ancient Tradition of Inner Knowing. I encountered it again later while going through some Human Design presentation slides.

I was listening to a Global Cycles lecture by Ra, in an effort to learn more about the 2027 Shift, and this quote stood out to me:

"We have a deadening of the spirit. Spirit can no longer be reached through belief because there is no hope in that, because of the dimming of the light of the whole process. But mechanically, it is possible."

As one of the Global Cycle Locks moves from Gate 37 to Gate 55, the frequency will no longer support institutionalized religion that demands "belief." Instead, we wake up to the fact that we are the temple that houses spirit, not some building or organization. Essentially, we are moving from merely holding a mental construct of spirit, or “belief,” to actually experiencing it and living it out as we are, mechanically.

This quote resonated with me because that is exactly what has been occurring in my personal life. I came to the end of my long-held beliefs and dogma and felt a great sorrow. Is there a structure to all this chaos and human suffering? What is this all for? Where are we headed? I have been a Doubting Thomas my whole life (I have the Gate of Doubt, Gate 63 as my Design Mercury). While many people could have accused me of being faithless, I find it so beautiful that the Divine instead brought me to this knowledge.

Whether one wants to accept the knowledge of Human Design as absolute fact or as something at least close to the truth, it theoretically affords one the opportunity to "look behind the veil," as we see in the Flammarion Engraving. To see that we are a part of a process so precious and so intentional. That there is a mechanical, supportive structure that holds our entire human experience together.

Ironically, being granted the mercy to look at things from such a meta view, to view the turmoil of our current times through this lens, has strengthened my faith.

We are going somewhere.
