Five Rites of Rejuvenation

Five Rites of Rejuvenation

This exercise is also called "The Five Tibetan Rites" according to a non-Tibetan man named Peter Kelder in his 1939 booklet titled The Eye of Revelation. (I have never read it; I have no idea what it is about.)

The Five Rites of Rejuvenation is essentially a series of yoga poses, with the exception of the spinning, that you perform for 3 to 21 reps over three sets.

I found it to be a nice practice for warming up all the joints in the morning. Also felt great for improving my posture by opening the chest.

Great for those days when you just want to do some type of movement.

Remember:

‣ 3-21 reps of each x 3 sets

‣ Match movement with breathing

RITE 1 | Energy

Spin 360° clockwise

RITE 2 | Air

90° leg raises [breath out when you crunch]

RITE 3 | Water

Camel Pose [place your hands more on your lower back if you need to]

RITE 4 | Earth

Table Stretch

RITE 5 | Fire

Downward Facing Dog to Upward Dog

And that's all there is to it.
